Additionally, recent leaks from Bloomberg have unveiled astandalone Siri appthat aims to compete with advanced AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Apple may also introduce a feature reminiscent of messaging apps, enabling users to set timers forautomatically deleting conversationsafter 30 days, a year, or keeping them indefinitely. According toThe Information, Apple plans to introduce an AI agent integration with the app store. While details are scarce, agents allow users to delegate tasks such as booking reservations, managing everyday tasks, editing documents, or controlling smart home devices. A new “Visual Intelligence” section isanticipatedto be introduced within the Camera app, taking the place of the previous Visual Intelligence feature found in the Camera Control button. This upgrade will introduce a dedicated Siri mode that exists next to options like Photo, Video, Portrait, and Panorama. The Visual Intelligence feature leverages Google Image Search to accurately identify objects captured by the user. In addition, the Photos app is set to receive exciting enhancements powered by Apple Intelligence. These may include intelligent scene recommendations for optimizing photos, automatic object removal for cleaner images, and an innovative AI photo editing feature that allows users to request edits simply by using natural language, new productivity functionalities in visionOS. Apple is set to upgrade the Image Playground app, introducing higher-quality image generation, more artistic styles, better character consistency, and richer editing controls. The interface for creating new images will be simplified, offering fewer controls and a “describe a change” option for editing. Additionally, we might see a suggested Genmoji feature that proposes custom emojis based on users’ media and text interactions. Users may also be able to generate AI wallpapers that reflect various themes and moods. Notable updates are rumored to be coming to the Wallet app, particularly a new bill-splitting feature that will simplify sharing expenses among friends or family. Users will be able to photograph a receipt and generate payment requests to different parties effortlessly. Alongside this, the Wallet app will also include a “Create a Pass” option that enables users to generate digital passes from physical items such as movie tickets, concert passes, or gym membership cards. Amazon now lets you design custom merch using AI
On Monday, Amazonintroduceda new feature that allows anyone to design merchandise using AI, posing an expanded challenge to online merch platforms like Redbubble, Bonfire, Spring, Fourthwall, and others. The company announced that people are now able to create new products using AI prompts via the Alexa feature in its Shopping app. In doing so, anyone can turn their idea into a design that can be featured on items from apparel to tumblers and more available through Amazon’s print-on-demand service, Merch on Demand. The service could be useful for printing one-off designs — like T-shirts for a family reunion, a personalized gift of some type, or to create products featuring a portrait of your dog, Amazon suggests. (Artists whose work has been used to train AI models may be less enthusiastic about this type of idea, of course.) After prompting to create the design, Amazon handles the production and delivery of the items through Prime shipping, the company says. The move puts AI-generated merchandise directly inside Amazon’s Shopping app, lowering the barrier for consumers who want to turn ideas into physical products but lack traditional design skills. While typically, print-on-demand businesses have catered to creators and various organizations, Amazon’s new feature could make AI-designed merchandise become just another shopping option. Currently, the option is only available in the U.S., Amazon notes. It is free to use the feature, as customers only pay for the products themselves. To use the feature, customers will tap the Alexa icon in the bottom right of the Amazon Shopping app or search “customize” in the search bar and click the drop-down option. This will take them into an experience where users can describe their idea to Alexa and see the design generated. Users can then edit the design by clicking on suggested actions or by typing in changes. Results can be shared with friends or family, allowing everyone to add the product to their own Amazon shopping carts. The full list of supported merchandise includes T-shirts, V-necks, long-sleeve shirts, polo shirts, quarter zips, jerseys, hoodies, sweatshirts, tank tops, raglans, tumblers, and water bottles.

As expected, Apple made the case for an improved experience with its longstanding Siri assistant, which it admitted faces greater expectations from users in the age of AI. With Google Gemini under the hood, Apple claims that the new Siri updates will more it more capable, conversational, compatible with visual intelligence, and it will be housed in a standalone app in addition to working across existing apps. Claiming that its upcoming update will be “available to more users than any iOS release ever,” Apple revealed that all devices from the iPhone 11 onward will be eligible for their upcoming software update. And that update comes with a flurry of performance improvements it’s touting across a number of its OS releases this year, with Apple claiming that new photos will appear 70 percent more swiftly, AirDrop transfers will be 80 percent faster and CPU schedulers will be improved to help multitasking. Apple’s long-awaited AI Siri overhaul is finally here
Two years after promising but failing to launch a smarter Siri, Apple unveiled its overhauled AI-powered assistant at its Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC 2026, on Monday. The idea behind the new “Siri AI,” as it’s called, is to turn Siri from a voice-controlled assistant into an AI companion that can do a lot more. The new assistant will launch alongside a dedicated Siri app. The new Siri can draw on current world knowledge to ground its answers to your questions. The updated assistant will also be able to access information on a user’s device and respond based on what’s displayed on their screen. The tech giant is transforming Siri into a full-fledged conversational AI chatbot to take on popular platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The update marks a major change for Siri, which has until now been known as a voice assistant. When users ask for information, Siri will display text cards with results, like information from the web or details from text messages. The assistant has also been redesigned for modern iPhones, as it will live in the Dynamic Island. Currently, when you trigger Siri, your side of the phone’s screen glows. With the updated Siri, there’s a new animation in the Dynamic Island instead. The new “Write with Siri” option will let users get help writing text. When you write with Siri in Mail and Messages, the assistant can reflect how you usually communicate with a specific colleague or friend. For example, if you normally send your manager quick and direct bulletin, that’s what you’ll get when you draft an email with Siri. You can swipe down from the dynamic island to search or to start a conversation with Siri by typing, and say “Hey Siri, or use the side button to get an in-depth answer. Users will be able to ask Siri to perform more complex tasks, like writing messages, by giving it specific information and topics to cover. Siri will be able to pull in information from the web and previous emails, along with details from the user’s calendar, contacts, and more. The tech giant also says Siri has a brand-new voice experience, while also being able to speak at a customized pace and expressivity. Additionally, there’s an update to system-wide dictation with a boost in accuracy, as it’s more precise in capturing what you say, from spelling to punctuation and capitalization. With Siri AI, you can ask for an in-depth plan, go back and forth, create a brainstorming session, get feedback on a document, and more. Over on macOS, you can tap into Siri from anywhere, as the company is integrating the assistant into Spotlight, which can now find answers to questions as well. On watchOS, users can ask questions and take action right from their watch.
